I have no idea how the Flames won this game. There are, however, three things we know about this team.

First, everyone knows the Calgary Flames struggle on the road. They showed it all first period by playing the entire 20 minutes in their own zone. It wasn’t for stellar goaltending by Kari Ramo the score would’ve been a lot worse than the 1-0.

Secondly, they should’ve played the entire game 3v3. Johnny Hockey what’s stellar again in overtime sounding the game winning pass to Kris Russell.

Thirdly, the special teams are abysmal. A full two man advantage in the second period yielded one single shot; the PowerPlay is absolutely horrid.

But somehow this team found a way to steal two points. Take it and run. The win puts Calgary one point out of seventh position in the Western Conference. Nobody thought they’d be there before Christmas.
