Flame Taratukhin Heads Off to Russia?

Seems that Andrei Taratukhin has signed a deal with Ufa Salavat Yulaev of the Russian super league. That would mean the second player to head off to Russia for more money. There has been no confirmation about the deal but we believe it could be contingent on him making the Flames squad.

P.S. Rookie camps starts in 8 days.

New Backup This Year – Mclennan Signs in Russia

Confirming what Flames fans already knew, there will be a new backup this year for Calgary after Jamie Mclennan, last year’s backup goalie, signed in Russia. The question that now remains is who will fill the spot behind 70-75 game performer Kiprusoff?

The good news, pretty much everybody, especially high profile players, will reject their first offer. It’s just interesting it hit the newswire; Kipper wanting to test free agency next year. Then again, Metro news could just be blowing smoke up everybody’s skirt.

It appears Sutter has been busy not only working the free agency lines but also shoring up some of the foundational pillars of the organization. The future looks bright with the likes of our superstar Iginla and now two solid defensemen locked up for 5 and 6 more years.
