Miikka’s Myspace Page.
Iginla’s Myspace page.
You’d think that making millions would entail hiring a designer (and a online marketer liek me) to handle things. Or maybe these are FAKES. Just tossing it out there, because many people think they’re the real deal. Can someone put this one to rest officially please? And if you can’t, then Miikka and Jarome, hire me to promote those web sites, cause man they ugly.

So I was at the Anaheim game Jan 19th, 2007 and watched a great game. Fights, goals, loud fans, a win. All great. I even got to check out the new scoreboard and man it’s pretty. Lots of fire and the TV screen is amazing!
But get this, the instant the Flames scored the first goal I standing waving my flag ready to engage in a timeless classic that labels and makes the ‘Dome–well–the ‘Dome! I’m talking about our gun totting cracker of a cowboy with the Lanny Mac moustache and cowboy hat firing off into the air screaming–together now– YAAAAAA HOOOO!
But alas, I was standing waving my flag, yelling, “Where’s my Yahoo?!” Of course, I looked like a nut yelling this, but the fact is, with a nice screen, why can’t you play my favorite goal celebration? Did people complain that it’s to cowboy? Is the new screen to cool for the old graphic? Somebody tell me I’m not the only one who noticed the absence. Surely, this after goal celebration has been around since day 1? or for at least as long as I can remember.
So yea, join my pretend petition to bring back our YAHOOOOOOO!

The Vancouver Canucks need all the help they can get. Hopefully with more wins they’ll get so air headed that their inability to score goals will come through and a playoff berth will be unattainable. Albeit, they work hard for 60 minutes, something the Flames sporadically complete, perhaps once every 4 games.
Again, a slow start killed the Flames as they could have jumped into first place using some games in hand against the NW division rivals. Instead, they are in last place, outside of a playoff berth.
Who should blame them? Well everyone should. Bad turnovers, lackluster efforts, and absolutely disgraceful officiating contributed to the win. No need to complain about officials outloud since the league will deal with tonight’s tandem that included Mick ‘Wingy’ McGeough (sp?).
Vancouver had eleven powerplays and converted one. Dumb penalties for both sides were called, however, blatant poor sportsmanship class were lost. Ference gets instigator and 10 minute misconduct for his role when Bieska speared Lombardi after getting beat badly. Later at the end of the second Matt Cooke shoots a puck against Kiprusoff 5 seconds after the buzzard. For some reason no Flames player saw that, Cooke keeps his head, and Regehr gets a penalty for roughing.
Fact of the matter is, the Calgary Flames have trouble getting going for games. This is a preparation issue. The forwards are either playing hurt (Friesen, Mccarty, Tanguay) or not playing at all (Lundmark.) Come out and play 60 minutes and maybe you’ll win a game IMO. By the way, props to Luongo, finally making his 6 million dollars, he played well tonight.
Matthew Lombardi scored twice for the Flames, who lost for only the second time in their past 14 home games — both to Vancouver. (One of them shorthanded no less.)
Notes: Apparently Zyuzin is not hurt but is a healthy scratch. Not sure what he’s doing so bad? Giordano really crapped the bed tonight and will sit against Florida for sure.

The Colorado Avalanche postponed Thursday night’s game against the Calgary Flames, citing fan safety amid the worst snowstorm to hit Colorado in three years.
No makeup date was immediately set.
“We have been in close consultation with the National Hockey League and the city of Denver and all parties realized that this was the best course of action given the current conditions,” said Paul Andrews, executive vice president of Kroenke Sports, the owner of the Avalanche.
Good thing for the Flames, they’ll have a longer time to get some players healed up for Saturday’s tilt against San Jose.

I looked closely and I’m pretty sure I’m right–Hamrlik still uses a wood stick. And with that woodstick comes an enormous shot (why he doesn’t shoot more often is beyond me (why Tanguay doesn’t shoot more often is also beyond me)).
Hamrlik took a one timer off a Huselius pass at the end of the 1st period that hit three posts and back out again. The refs conferenced and the goal was deemed legit. Replay showed the puck was hit so hard it banked off the post, then the inside cross bar, then the inside middle bar, then out again.
Get this, for once the Flames actually started the game with a tank of energy. 28 seconds into the game Iginla worked hard down low to set up a quick Langkow shot. Before, the Canes failed to clear the zone and with Iginla parked in front, the Flames scored to make it 1-0 on netminder Grahame.
On the final play of the game Iginla netted an empty netter but looked over to Frisen thinkin, “maybe he’d like to score 1 this season?”. Friesen courageously shook his head giving Iggy the all-ok to score. Iginla needs one more goal for 300.
Ritchie Regher was called up, and Giordano was sent down. Basically a chance for Ritchie to get some exposure up North and Girodano gets some playing time. Kiprusoff once again played solid, racking up another shutout.
Next up, the Wild on Thursday.

A bit late on this one (3 days), but HSBC Bank Canada has signed an agreement to become the largest financial sponsor of the Calgary Flames team until the end of the 2010-2011 season. HSBC Bank Canada will receive major promotional opportunities with the Calgary Flames and substantial signage in the Pengrowth Saddledome, including two prominent in-ice logos, diagonally opposite one another, around the centre ice face-off circle. HSBC is one of only two companies that will have its logo displayed in the ice. HEre I thought MBNA was the biggest, they do giveaway the most T-shirts for credit cards than any other….

The 2006-2007 season is here, finally! Now I can’t say there’s that much excitment as a year ago when the lock out happened, but Flames fans are definately pleased that we get another kick at the can this year with what many believe is the best team we’ve had in years.
The Flames won’t play tonight, they do a home-at-home vs. the Oilers, but you can watch Colorado or Toronto tonight….I’ll watch Colorado I’m sure. Be sure to stay tuned to FlamesForum for the latest NHL happenings and unique Flames news and forum discussion. Check out our fan gallery as well for some neat pictures. GO FLAMES!

*** 2010-2011 Update. Sportcheck Zone tickets are still available this year, albeit the price has increased. Tickets are also available at different times throughout the year. They are not released at the same time as regular tickets. WE’re looking for those details but SportChek Does a lousy job updating their info. ***
The Flames will continue to have some of the lowest priced tickets in the NHL. Sportchek and the Calgary Flames announced a new three year ticketing partnership designed to support the Flames core ticketing principle of “fairest and broadest distribution.†That means 3 more years of 400 tickets (around there) for $19.99.
“Despite strong demand for tickets, it is imperative to retain a broad and fair distribution of tickets to southern Alberta,†said Flames President & CEO Ken King. “We want to remain committed to a reasonable ticket price for families. We are extremely appreciative to Sportchek for providing us with this opportunity.â€
The Flames have teamed with Sport Chek since the 2001-2002 season with the initial introduction of the Sportchek Zone at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Twelve Sport Chek stores throughout southern Alberta will participate in the initiative and will carry 600 tickets per game. Tickets will be released for purchase in four game increments over the course of the season.
Here is the ad you will find in all Sport Check stores showing the date of games and sale.
