Game 4: Flames host the Oilers

Hello FlamesForum readers, a standing ovation is in place for the visiting team as they step on ice today. It is a token of sincere respect for McTavish and his troops who helped the Flames maintain their playoff status when the odds were against them. THANK YOU TEAM ALBERTA!

But, friendships evaporate as the puck drops on center ice

After their first win on Tuesday night, the Flames (1-1-1) face their Albertan counterparts who are 2-0-0 having played just two games; and, this makes the stats difficult to digest as they do not sit well on the stomach. Optimistically, Calgary Flames have home ice advantage and this should be the only thing that should matter – the C of Red will be on their side. More importantly, the tip for the night encompasses “random shots on goal” to catch Garon off guard; and, the major responsibility will switch over to the forwards who will have to lift more weight on their shoulders and skate faster to beat the Penners, Coglianos, Pisanis. But no beating around the bush, Iginla. Your leadership is prestigious and you are the role model who sets up the vital plays. We cannot afford to ruin that reputation!

The nail biting excitement begins at the Pengrowth Saddledome tonight. Loyal TV watchers can watch the game on SNET-W at 07:00 pm. Keen listeners on the run can tune in to the Fan 960 for the wonderful voice of the Flames and his colour commenter. Get rolling folks for “Hockey Night in Alberta – the Flames way”.

Only performance and perseverance will establish whether the team’s chemistry has turned to real physics.

Go Flames Go

p.s. Stay Away From Fights
