The Flames are in Phoenix for Game 8

With the 5-3 comeback victory against the Nashville Predators, and two back to back victories, the Flames should have sufficient confidence to face Gretzky and his troops. It may not come that easy because the Coyotes are 2-0-0 on home ice while the Flames have lost two road games. Nevertheless, the Flames power play is much stronger at approximately 18.2% while their penalty killing is 84.1%. The ability to capitalize on power plays and remain steadfast in penalty killing will help them change the game’s momentum; and this should be a critical strategy to keep in mind. Notwithstanding the statistics, both teams are similar in terms of competitiveness.

For starters, both the Flames and the Coyotes have won and lost 3 games a piece. Moreover, both teams have significant advantages: The Coyotes have home ice and Gretzky. The Flames have resilience and Keenan’s critical eyes.

On a closing note, can the Calgary Flames maintain their winning streak and take it to the Coyotes in a similar fashion as they did the Predators? Check it out with the play by play commentary on The Fan 960. It all begins on Saturday, October 25th at 08:00 pm MT. Stay tuned….
