Game 12: The Flames go on to challenge the Anaheim Ducks

The fix on the Kings last night had helped the Flames maintain their winning streak; and with a winning attitude, they will meet the Ducks on Sunday at 6:00 pm MT. The outcome of this contest will attest whether the Flames are truly the hottest team in the league. Nevertheless, it is optimal to bear in mind that the Flames were indeed victorious against the Kings but they also blew a 2-0 lead and were out shot by their opponents; only a determined effort helped them defend their one goal lead. Combating the Ducks, on the other hand will be an entirely different story.

- The Flames have not won against them since 2006.
- A win tomorrow would be a rare victory for the Flames as the flying heroes have lost 7 regular games against the Anaheim Ducks.

Optimistically though, the Flames’ motivation can change all the pessimistic notions mentioned herein; they have been known to perform miracles on ice if they wish.

In terms of compatibility:
- The Flames have won 7-3-1 while the Ducks have a 6-5-1 record.
- The Flames have earned 15 points in 11 games while the Ducks have 13 points in 12 games.
- The Flames have a slight advantage on power play and penalty killing rankings
- The Flames are 3-2-0 on the road while Anaheim is 2-3-1 at home.

Facts: Mikka has been outstanding during the last six games.
Flames have maintained a one goal lead on two occasions.
Flames have the tenacity to come back after trailing their opponents

A group effort will be the critical factor in Sunday night’s game. The Flames’ offence and defence will have to work harder than they did in LA. Mikka can be the terrific net minder, but should not be the only person liable for the Flames’ success.

Stay tuned for the excitement which begins on Sunday, November 2nd on SNETW at 6:00 pm MT. A play by play summary with Peter Mahar and Mike Rogers will be aired on the Fan 960.
