First Place on the Line: Calgary 2 – Colorado 3

Calgary faced Colorado tonight at home after a three game road trip in an effort to extend their win streak. The hard fought battle went back and forth but Calgary fell short against the division leading Avalanche team. I didn't watch it so can't say much. If anybody is interested in posting post-game reports when I can't let me know. Hope the Flames get back on track against Chicago Thursday .

I didn't think the overall performance by the Flames was good enough, because they allowed the opponents to score two goals within a span of 1:06 - the tieing goal along with a power play goal. So, although they played well offensively (in terms of shots on goal), their third period efforts had been fruitless because Anderson stood big and tall. The defensive forechecking wasn't strong enough to have stopped the Avs when the Flames led by 2-1. Kiprusoff had not been very sharp either.

More importantly, the team should better be working on their power play and penalty killing strategies....not good to see them give up a power play goal game after game - least promising performance so to speak. Though, I appreciate Bourque's efforts to score the short handed tally.
Consequently, the Flames should stick to their initial plan without being concerned about the shots on goal, because they are forgetting to play a defensive style of hockey.

On an optimistic closing note, cheers to Iginla for maintaining his goal scoring trend and Bourque for his short handed expertise!. Leave the fights for McGrattan, we need you on the ice more than the penalty box, Bourque!!!

I'm watching the Flames Hawk game right now and it sickens me to see how bad this team can play and without any heart. We are getting embarrassed at home by a team that we should be so into beating after we got totally embarrassed by them not long ago. Sometimes this team just makes me shake my head....

Wishful thinking Thelma, the Flames are as good as we think they are and should finish quite high in the western conference. I'm starting to think that this obvious hate for the Flames runs much deeper than the h1n1 shots fiasco. Edmonton fan or Vancouver fan? Me thinks so!
