They outshot the Hurricanes 39-28 and had seven short handed shots on goal. That was a good start considering that they had been outplayed by the Flyers a couple of nights ago. It was a far better team tonight in terms of the spark they had - moving their feet and aggressive forechecking. The only weakness tonight was the back to back penalties - almost nine of them, which gave Carolina the opportunity to capitalize on one of them... Nevertheless, their penalty killing efforts were excellent particularly allowing only one shot on goal in the double minor. Bravo, Flames. Compliments to Curtis Glencross for his hat trick and Matt Stajan for his game winning goal. Excellent efforts from Nystrom, Mayers, Iginla, Regehr, Bouwmeester, Pardy and Bourque. The overall performance by the entire team was excellent even though Carolina was a weaker team....right now baby steps are necessary to gain confidence. Way to go Flames.
