The 4-2 loss to the Phoenix must have shaken the Flames’ ego because they were defeated and outplayed by a team who was far below in NHL standings. Putting pessimism in the closet, it is anticipated that their losing streak comes to an end on Thursday, November 6, at 7:30 pm.

The 3-2 defeat in Anaheim last night ends the Flames’ winning streak. Does this envisage 7 to be the unlucky number for the Flames? Not in the eyes of the Flames perhaps, because they have the tenacity to change all the statistics in their favour and what’s more – they have home ice advantage with the C of Red rocking with excitement. Keeping this in mind, the Flames should be ready to counter the Coyotes at the Saddledome tonight.

The fix on the Kings last night had helped the Flames maintain their winning streak; and with a winning attitude, they will meet the Ducks on Sunday at 6:00 pm MT. The outcome of this contest will attest whether the Flames are truly the hottest team in the league. Nevertheless, it is optimal to bear in mind that the Flames were indeed victorious against the Kings but they also blew a 2-0 lead and were out shot by their opponents; only a determined effort helped them defend their one goal lead. Combating the Ducks, on the other hand will be an entirely different story.
- The Flames have not won against them since 2006.
- A win tomorrow would be a rare victory for the Flames as the flying heroes have lost 7 regular games against the Anaheim Ducks.

The fourth straight win should not only rejuvenate the confidence for fans in general, but also for the fearless Flames – they now know that even after trailing by three goals, they have the propensity to come back and also defend their lead. Conspicuously, the shut out win against the Colorado has verified the strong defence and fore checking skills, which the boys had displayed with cohesiveness and determination. Hence, it is only reasonable to bury the past skepticism about the new additions on ice.

A Flame broiled (4-1) win in Phoenix for the Calgary Flames was picture perfect, save for the lone goal by Todd Fedoruk that ruined Kipper’s golden opportunity for a shut out. Nevertheless, the team’s performance was exceptional offensively and defensively. By and large, Keenan’s chemistry is turning out to be unexpectedly effective; and notable insights were apparent in the almost clean sweep.
- The Flames out shot their opposition 36-24.
- Consistency persevered throughout the 60 minutes of play
- The fore checking efforts of the forwards was remarkable

With the 5-3 comeback victory against the Nashville Predators, and two back to back victories, the Flames should have sufficient confidence to face Gretzky and his troops. It may not come that easy because the Coyotes are 2-0-0 on home ice while the Flames have lost two road games. Nevertheless, the Flames power play is much stronger at approximately 18.2% while their penalty killing is 84.1%. The ability to capitalize on power plays and remain steadfast in penalty killing will help them change the game’s momentum; and this should be a critical strategy to keep in mind. Notwithstanding the statistics, both teams are similar in terms of competitiveness.
