The most significant day has arrived when the Flames’ confidence and determination will be attested by the 2nd best team in the Western Conference, the Red hot and mighty Wings. No doubt, the Flames’ performance had been excellent against the Colorado Avalanche in every respect – they remained dominant and consistent for the most part, were well disciplined, controlled the play and maintained their game plan. Albeit they had their fun at the Av’s expense, but their presentation on Saturday will be the decisive factor whether they intend to continue their winning streak to three in a row.

A beautyflame (4-1) win against the Colorado Avalanche gave the Flames a 2-0 edge against their western conference rivals. The triumphant performers demonstrated the effectiveness of the “us” factor – regardless of who scores, the team gets the two points. It is the input from the forwards and defence (together) that matters – not the individual “I” who plays the game. The no nothing Flames return to the Dome Tuesday to try and win, something they've somehow forgotten how to do. Sure Flames fans are impatient, but when a team can't even bother to show up for games despite the talent in the lineup, many are bothered by blow-out results. The no nothing Flames are nothing on the powerplay, nothing on offence, nothing on the forecheck, nothing on defense, and average in goal.

The 3-2 defeat in Anaheim last night ends the Flames’ winning streak. Does this envisage 7 to be the unlucky number for the Flames? Not in the eyes of the Flames perhaps, because they have the tenacity to change all the statistics in their favour and what’s more – they have home ice advantage with the C of Red rocking with excitement. Keeping this in mind, the Flames should be ready to counter the Coyotes at the Saddledome tonight.
