Flames Play Another Terrible Game

It’s crunch time and as teams get better Calgary gets progressively worse. A disappointing road trip for the Calgary Flames ends with a 3-0 shutout to the Columbus Blue Jackets leaving the Flames two points behind the Minnesota Wilds in the battle for the Northwest Division. Simultaneously, the Columbus Blue Jackets showed more resilience and seemed more committed in the race for the playoffs.

The must win concept for the Flames resulted with a mere 18 shots on goals and lacked the powerful offence. Although the failure to outperform can be relegated to injuries, the 38 shots on goals from the opposition emphasized the visiting team’s poor overall performance. The pain of losing a much needed win resulted in a brawl to demonstrate their frustrations, but the key to winning is professionalism and effort.
