One thing is for sure, the NW division is heating up and the Flames singing FAST. THe division leaders have been listless for the past month. November was great, December is horrid. The top line is non-existent. The million dollar defense is hit and miss. The second, third, and fourth lines can’t score–period. Add all that up and what do you get? Losses MOUNTING. That’s is all for now, Merry Christmas and let’s hope Santa brings wins for Flames!
Difficult to comprehend the chemistry, Barry. There was no intensity or push to win from the entire team. Thankfully, the Flames got a point when Giordano (with helper from Langkow) scored the tieing goal.
What is most discocerting is that there is no telling as to what is wrong. Amazingly, neither Dawes nor Jokinen could score in the shootout for the Flames and so even the shoot out seemed bleak…..while the Blues were upbeat and determined to keep their winning streak.
Merry Christmas to you, Barry and all Calgary Flames fans. Hopefully Santa can bring a nice surprise for the fans in the upcoming year…..We desperately need our Flames in full form……
I think # 3 should be trade, i will say this again and again a thousand times if i have to, or this team won’t get far in the play-off. ( not even pass the 2nd round )
Not sure how you can think of trading such a young dman with so much potential. The whole team is playing crap except Kipper. We are a very average team, not sure what it will take to get better….
Hi Flaming Moe,
I am in total agreement with you about Phaneuf. But what I cannot make sense is why the team is performing in this way despite having all the ammunition. There does not seem to be any desperation to win and I wonder if there is something fans are not aware of.
Hi Anar,
I agree with you about the whole desperation thing. They play with no heart and are becoming a very boring team to watch. I have not enjoyed a lot of their games this year even when they have won. They rarely seem to all out dominate a team. I never know what team is going to show up, the crap team or the good team. Most times this year it has been the crap team with Kipper stealing the wins for em. If they don’t win against Vancouver tonight and at home I’ll be ready to write this year off. Maybe I’m jumping the gun but they sure haven’t shown us much this year other than that one very dominant game against the Preds.
It is becoming so scary that I think Calgary will not have a team at all and that would be a pity for the fans who love hockey and their Flames so much.
I just finished watching the first period against the Nucks. Man Calgary is a very fragile team in big, big trouble…
Tough to watch. Sad display of hockey. What is with this team?
No idea Del, it is so disturbing watching this team that lacks finish, heart, skill, etc… Playing at home in my opinion against our biggest rival now and c ome out with an effort like that? Vancouver played last night and looked much sharper than us. Maybe we have been expecting way to much out of this team. Maybe this team is very ordinary at best. They sure the hell play like it. Most over priced D in the league. Not even sure if I will watch the Edmonton game tomorrow, I honestly can’t stand to watch them most nights anymore. I find all it does is wind me up and ruins my evening, my health is more important.
Yeah Moe, methinks this team is only successful when Kipper is on his game, and even then they struggle to look dangerous offensively.
I wish they would put Lanks in the middle with Iggy on rw and Bourque on the left. Couldn’t be any worse…
One other thing Daryl Sutter please trade Phanueff for one or two deadly goal scorers if they are available. What about that Russian guy who is available, can’t for the life of me remember his name ’cause I’m in a complete funk right now.
