Again, a short post to emphasize how uninterested I am in blogging about the Calgary Shames. Now they have lose 11 in the last 12 and only sit behind the Oilers as the worst team in the NHL these days.
Solution? Nothing. Iginla? Can’t score in the SO to save his life largely because he doesn’t really know how to deke. Scoring? Returned a bit, and Dallas got two lucky goals, so there is a bit of hope. The other piece of hope is we’re only 7 points out of first in the NW division. Hope is a first line that got some scoring tonight, that’s always good. However, the Flames need to win 18 games at minimum in the final stretch to even think about making the playoffs. That’s a far stretch for this bunch.
No time to sleep, a hot Phoneix team up tomorrow.
And the refs were atrocious the final 5 minutes and into the OT period. Complete homer calls, gah!
The reffing was bad, but once again Phanuef was being lazy…
I think the Flames started of very well in the first…with two power play goals and killing the first Bourque penalty. However the frustrations became apparent with the 5 v 3 disadvantage – Bouwmeester penalty shouldn’t have been called but the refs were again loose!!! It was even more upsetting that the Flames could not hang on to the 2 goal lead and maintain the momentum. The penalty call in OT was even more upsetting and my suspicions were confirmed that the refs were sticking up for the home team. I wonder why the Flames are always in the bad books? Lastly, but not the least, it was disconcerting that none of the shooters could score… I was so sure that they would win this one at least.
Calgary can make all the excuses they want for this game, it is same old, same old. We have seen this story so many times this year. I as a fan am not taking this anymore, and until they can finally start playing well enough to earn their paychecks, I’m not watching them anymore. Overpaid, no heart bunch of bums. Not all of em, but 95% of em.
