*Flames need to win all six of their last six to make the playoffs*
I still think there’s no hope, but mathematically there is. In true Flames fashion the team showed up for 2/3 of the game today and thankfully scored enough goals in the first period to stave off a overwhelming final 20 minutes. Calgary now will sit and wait to see how Colorado does and whether they’ll show up for another 2/3’s of a game Wednesday against the red hot ex-Flames Phoenix Coyotes.
Friday’s game against Colorado may actually be one of the crucial games of the season if Calgary win’s both…….Should be an interesting week in the wild swing of emotions this team is giving us.
You’re right Barry, the Flames were fortunate to have scored at least four goals in the initial period; and more importantly, Bourque’s timely goal right after the Caps scored on a powerplay gave them some cushion. Although the second period seemed more weaker in terms of forechecking their opponent, it was great to see the Flames hang on to the two goal lead and get the two points.
On the optimistic side of it all, Flames do seem to perform better against the tougher teams and this is one factor that fans can hold their hopes on to. Slow and steady wins the race!
Go Flames Go…. we are with you!!
Keep up your hope.. what kind of fan are you? you are supposed to believe in your team that they can do it all.. some fans, you guys are like the leafs fans 15 games in well this wasn’t our season.. its fans like you that put the weight on the team.. why not support your team instead of nit picking everything they do.. when we make the playoffs don’t be going oh our team is so great if you talk like this about them now.. Hypocrites…
Steve
An educated fan doesn’t blindly support a team when they play poorly. I’ma lways a Flames fan, but I’ll call a spade a spade when I see it and demand changes.
I am with you on this one, Barry. Die hard fans do not give up easily on their team; but when it is their prerogative to point out the team’s discrepancies. That does not mean we are not true fans, but just more inspirational.
