It’s all done. Tonight’s loss against SJ and Colorado’s impending win, has put the nail in the coffin for the Flames’ playoff chances. The league’s NUMBER ONE underperforming NHL team won’t make the playoffs.
The team will break for summer early, look at the themselves in the mirror, and wonder what will happen next.
One thing’s for sure, fans won’t tolerate this team anymore. 1/3 of it changed 2/3 of the way through the season, it wasn’t good enough. No. We need changes that propel this team into the NEW NHL. Not the old systems the Sutter’s hold dear, we need changes that will help the team, not change for change sake.
More coverage to come on this debacle of a season.
The way I see it is we have nothing to look forward to as Flame fans for quite a while. No great prospects, no draft picks this year, insane contracts for mediocre players which handcuffs this team from making trades, wow… Sad times in Flameland….
Darryl Sutter you are so gone you’re yesterday’s news
It was pathetic last night. I thought the Flames would have been inspired to do better against the SJ Sharks because they had defeated this team previously, but there had been no determination at all except after Bourque’s power play goal and in the last few minutes of the game. But unfortunately, even after gaining momentum, Giordano had to take the untimely and unnecessary slashing penalty.
Okay, so the season is over earlier than expected, but at least Calgary Flames fans can now take an unbiased view and watch the performance of other teams who have made it to the playoffs. I am for sure sticking up for the Vancouver Canucks…
