Before we jump into our in-depth coverage of the debacle that was the 2009-10 Calgary Flames NHL season let’s hear from you the fans.
What should the ownership do in the off-season? Get rid of the management? Is Jarome safe? How about Regehr? Any big trades? Who do we have in the minors ready to come up?
We’d like to hear your solutions.
Initially, I think we need someone who can listen to the concerns our Flames players have, because it is apparent that they have the potential to play (if they want to); but slack down to send a message to someone.
After watching the Ottawa-Pittsburgh game, and the determination of the Senators, a younger coach would have a better approach to relate to the players and instill confidence that the players currently lack….if the Flames cannot play against weaker teams then they cannot play anyone in the league let alone play a playoff style hockey. We need a team that is full of vigour, energy and determination. Players who can contribute offensively and defensively…. not money wise but play wise. i.e. how much they can put into a game to make Calgary Flames rocket sky high. In fact when it boils down to salary, there should be no distinctions between players – everyone should be paid equally.
I also believe that the trades are not the only solution for the Calgary Flames Hockey Club. Indeed the trades we have made so far have been painful because ex-Flames seem to perform so well considering how the Phoenix Coyotes are playing. I am not sure though what would actually make a difference – be it management or coach….but something needs to be done. The Calgary Flames are stone cold and they need to be talked to before any plans can be implemented….What are their main concerns???? What can be done to make them determined players and initiate Lord Stanley’s visit to Calgary.
Is it just me or are there a lot of ex Flames on other teams who are still in the playoffs???? NUFF said! :( I wish them all the best!!!
And what about all those proclamations about Iginla staying 4 sure. You know what that means….:(
And I heard something quite nasty about why Phaneuf was traded…
Oh well it’s nice outside shouldn’t be in watching TV anyways
I am not the only one that has noted the antiCanadian bias in these playoffs. Gary Bettmean is a very transparent human being….
The Flames have given up many a good player like Hull, St. Louis, Stillman but their biggest mistake was giving up Mike Cammalleri – to get a group of so-called top defence men – and then no one to help Iginla. I didn’t care who else they gave up as long as they
kept Cammalleri — but go, Mike, go – you’re the best!!!!!!
Players Calgary should have kept, Camellari, St.Louis, Savard to name a few. Just think how much better the offence looks with them in the lineup.
Just thought I would chime in and say thank you hockey God’s for making the Vancouver Cansucks Cup run a short one!!!!
Yes, goodbye Canucks, the universe is back.
I’m going to post something soon about this year’s debacle and how Sutter (d) has ruined this team through poor trades (ie. cammalleri)
Believe me, I was just amazed by the stats last night.
Cammalleri has initiated 11 goals during the playoffs but when he played with the Flames, he had just one!!!
By the way, I thought that he was not actually traded, but chose to go to Montreal.
