Yea, Flames lost again which puts them squarely at the bottom of the NW Division. That’s right, for the first time in something like 15 years the Flames are the worst team in the West.
It’s not that they played a bad game. Most players showed up, but as with this team since day 1 of this season 1-3 players take the night off.
Calgary played hard, they almost pulled it out at the end, but at this point in the season ‘almost’ isn’t good enough.
The loser Flames need to play around .650 hockey for the rest of the way, and you know that’s not going to happen.
So alas, season is over. We can only hope for a great pick (that Sutter will trade away or draft the next ‘Daniel Tkachuk’, ‘Rico Fata’, or ‘Trevor Kidd’.
You hit the nail right on the head, looks like our boys are very close to done for the year. No surprise though considering what we did in the off season. Only half decent signing is Tanguay, the rest aren’t worth the ink they signed with. Calgarys failure to score on the powerplay is what cost them today like it has most of the season. I think try to sell what talent we have for prospects. Maybe wait for Daryl to be gone first though.
