TSN had the game today and since they don’t have Flames games very often they needed to amplify stories. Tonight they wanted to harp a ‘potential’ Jarome Iginla trade over and over again. Yes, Iginla is slumping mightily, yes the Flames need to rebuild, but does Iginla go? That’s the question that few fans want to think about, and right now most say no.

The game was really a neutral zone affair. calgary did really well sticking to their game plan and outlasted the Nashville push late. Derek Smith scored his first NHL goal off a nice pass from TJ Brodie from none other than Iginla for the game’s only goal.

Kiprusoff recorded his first shutout of the season and had a couple magnificent saves in the middle frame.

At one point in the first period the Flames were down to just four D men when Mark Giordano went down with what looked like a groin pull and then Butler got a puck in the eye. Butler would return, Gio would not.
