Even at their best the Flames can’t compete. They threw everything they had at Dallas and fell short. That should be indicative to management that when everyone is playing at their ‘best’ this team is and 11th place team. Changes? Never. So long as Flames fans continue buying tickets to watch this team and the owners make money, there’s no huge changes coming down the pipe. Next year we may have a new face or two, but largely status quo. Hooray. < -- Sarcasm.
then there is truth to the rumor that the flames really do suck
There was a notable intensity in the afternoon game yesterday, which signifies perseverence; nevertheless, it was quite clear that “shots on goal” does not necessarily correlate with a victorious ending – and the Flames have proven this in the past. Even with fewer shots on the net, they have been victorious Alternatively, the second discrepancy on the Flame’s part was the giving up of two early and costly goals that helped the Stars gain an irreversible momentum; and although this mistake can be perceived as the team slacking defensively, the focus should be shifted on netminding considering the number of shots that Lehtonen faced. Had it not been for him, the visiting team could easily got the equalizer. But what if the situation had been reversed?
Hopefully the loss in Dallas will reinvigorate the Flames and notwithdstanding the consequences of the game tonight, perhaps the home crowd will help them normalize the situation and boost their confidence. Go Flames Go…..
You’re absolutely correct. For the past three years, this team has been the best “Almost got there Boys!!! hockey team. The management MUST blame themselves. It’s time for Sutter to go. Here clearly has nothing to offer to the team that will get them over the hump. If Sutter isn’t gone at seasons end, then the entire Upper management must consider stepping down. This team is very hard to watch indeed!
I don’t think Sutter is the problem. The team itself is missing some key pieces. The blowup can’t happen now since Kipper and Iginla are too old to get viable return, so more of the same we can expect….
