Fancy that, a string of games thrown together and a couple wins. The wins are good ,but there are 3 glaring errors that have absolutely no conceivable answer:
1) Why is GRossman playing?
2) Why is Wideman on the top defensive unit? This is incredibly stupid. He’s a 6th D man who plays PP, not a shutdown man. I’m gonna call him ‘one hand on the stick’ Wideman from now on.
3) Chiasson on the top line is dumb. The top line has no 5 v 5 power because 1/3 of the line is a 4th line plug.
Apart from that, great win, I guess the team is coming on board with ‘the system’.
Lucky in three’s or three’s company? Let’s hope things get better henceforth.
Notwithstanding the obvious concerns, the execution seems to be working out fine..Jokipaka seemed to be missing in action last night or was he on injured reserve? Dennis Wideman scored on the power play last night and as long as the team wins, it doesn’t matter who is on the top line or the 6th defensive player. It is all about the collaborative effort…..who works best with who?
Defense was most productive last night getting two goals within a span of twenty minutes. If they can provide sufficient offensive backup then the forwards will be less targeted and open opportunities for them to score without any aggression from the opposition. Johnny Gaudreau scored the empty netter because the attention had been diverted away from him.
