Flames Continues Road Wins

The fifth road win in a row have placed Calgary into contention for top spot in the NW division. The team is facing a complete reversal of fortunes compared to two weeks ago when they were fighting at the bottom of the West. Iginla yet again took the team on his shoulders and the rest scraped out a chippy win. Iginla even passed on an attempt for the hat-trick on the empty net by passing off to Langkow. Some intense fight videos will be up tomorrow (complete with Dion’s black eye).

The Flames produced a gutsy effort to give Mike Keenan his 600th victory as an NHL coach. There are still defensive questions, and frankly, the team looks a bit like the 2004 Flames without the airtight defense and goalie. The top lined combined for ALL the goals tonight and have been on fire lately. The secondary scoring has not improved. Top line doesn’t score = no wins….

Some of the intense fist-a-cuffs last night included the first tilt of Nystrom v Salvador

and then Tkachuck complaining all night and Dion answering the bell:

Tell me, can’t we see Godard do some fighting, he needs to win one so he doesn’t forget how.
