The Philadelphia Flyers have sent tough guy defenceman Jim Vandermeer to the Flames for a 2009 third round pick.
Vandermeer, 27, has three goals, 15 points and 71 penalty minutes in 54 games this season with the Blackhawks and Flyers.
He was originally signed as a free agent by Philadelphia in 2000, and spent parts of two seasons with the Flyers before being dealt to the Blackhawks in 2004. Currently he’s on a one-year deal signed with Chicago for $1,225,000.
More details to come.
This actually puts us over the player so another defenceman may be on the way out or Boyd is on the way down.
