Calgary lost 2-0 to San Jose in a referee induced win for the Sharks. From the 10 or so penalties by the Flames half were deserved, half were dives, the other half conspiracy. But there is a silver lining underneath the rubble: Calgary can and WILL win this series. San Jose is not the #2 powerhouse team everyone thought they were, Calgary is not the crappy inconsistent team everyone thought thinks they are.
Oh hang on, there is one caveat. Calgary can’t be inconsistent. Considering how much help San Jose got from the refs, yet still only won 2-0, it seems quite clear: Calgary will win this series IF they stay out of the box. Sure the refs started their display, but Calgary did their part and Nabokov made some incredible, albeit lucky, saves.
You heard it here, Flames in six (seven just to be sure.)
