While going most of the year without major loss, the Calgary Flames have lost another forward for an extended period of time. The team announced that Todd Bertuzzi had undergone arthroscopic surgery on his knee this week.

Daryl Sutter said Bertuzzi will be out about a month. Bertuzzi had the surgery, to repair cartilage, on Tuesday.

Total Players Lost to Injury

Sutter said other injured Flames players include:

  • Rene Bourque (high ankle sprain) our until playoffs,
  • Daymond Langkow (hand), day to day
  • Mark Giordano (shoulder surgery) perhaps out for the remainder of the season.
  • Todd Bertuzzi, (knee surgery) lost till playoffs.

Essentially the entire second line is gone.

Losses include Matt Lombardi replaced with Olli Jokinen and the addition of Jordan Leopold (Pardy likely relegated to 7th D man duties).
