And then there were FIVE at FOURTH. Check it out.
I do’nt think I’ve ever seen this type of tie so late in the season for a spot so high. Four points separates 3rd from 10th. Scary.
But it does mean one thing: if Calgary takes care of their own business they will make the playoffs.
Most teams have at least two games in hand, but Calgary is on their own roll and can wind up in a pretty pretty position come April.
Yea, this team is for real. Not only if you could guarantee a playoff position AND a win at the Heritage Classic (I’ll be there, follow us on Twitter for updates), I’d be happy.
Slow and steady wins the race. It will take time, but the Flames have tact, talent and confidence. The team is getting better on man advantages and better still on short handed tallies. The talent is coming from just everywhere – be it from the deadly defensive blue liners or from the smart offensive players…
The Calgary Flames are playing collaboratively and not just thinking in terms of “I must score”, but rather “we must work harder to earn the two points”..
On a closing note, the Flames are in form the way their fans want them to be. They are playing hard hitting hockey and have the killer instinct….Yes, they may not be the best….but they are getting there! Go Flames Go.
This is how I envisioned Calgary playing from the start. Not that I expect them to win every game, but they are winning with hard work and that is all I ever asked from this team. I sure am glad I was wrong when I said this team was going nowhere. That being said, at the time I was saying that, this team was playing horrendously. They have played much better than I could even hoped for since then, and I am so proud of them. If this team doesn’t get into the playoffs it will be a damn shame cause no one has worked harder over the past couple of months than our beloved Flames. GO FLAMES GO!!!
