Wow, a road win, and get this, with the Flames forecheck hard they dominate 5v5. What a concept! And guess what, some timely powerplay work contributed to the Flames win for a change. Albeit, it was Pheonix and not, well you know, a better team.
With three regular defensemen down with injuries, Ri. Regehr, Giordano, and B. Ference were called up. Ri. Rigehr got an assist on the third goal that Lankgow potted. The top line each had a goal. For the most part the new D men did well; Kiprusoff was unusually shaky in net having a hard time controlling rebounds.
Jarome Iginla continues his torrid scoring pace (don’t worry about every losing him for money reasons, the Flames will always give him the max so let him score as many as he wants.) Iginla scored twice and was a force all night (at least on offense) adding two more assist for a four point night. That’s 41 points now in the season and he hasn’t hit his late season stride yet!
Amonte had a three point night with two assists and the empty net goal, one assist coming late after Phoenix made it interesting coming within one with 4 minute sleft in the game. Ritchie scored after the Phoenix netminder mishandled the puck… again. (The goalies weren’t shining starts in this game.)
Next up, the best team in the league, Anaheim on Monday. Yelle returned tonight.
Hey iam a big fan … well go hard boys i play for bantom AAA .. i look up to the flames all fo them
