They’re out there, no surprises in the latest waiver moves (final cuts) for the Flames today as dfencemen Anders Eriksson and Rhett Warrener and forward Jamie Lundmark hit the wire. All three are assigned to the AHL affiliate in cost cutting moves in an effort to trim the roster, trim the payroll, and trim some dead weight.

Eriksson, 33, played 61 games with Calgary last season, tallying 18 points. Warrener, who played four seasons with Calgary, was limited to 31 games last season because of leg and ankle injuries. Both players were signed through this season by Sutter, Warrener with the largest contract between the two at 2.5 million, a hefty tag for a minor leaguer.

Lundmark, a first-round pick by the New York Rangers in the 1999 NHL Draft, was signed as a free agent by the Flames last summer and played last season with Lake Erie of the AHL. He did put up some numbers in the pre-season but could not do enough to convince Flames brass he’s an improvement since the last stint with the Flames.

The moves mean Boyd, Prust, and a surprise at D, Adam Pardy, will make the big club.
