Playing it quiet on free agency day, the Flames did dip into the pool singing former Hitmen forward Fredrik Sjostrom. Selected by Phoenix Coyotes round 1 #11 overall 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Sjostrom played the last two season in New York.
His highest point production was in his rookie season with 23 points. Last season he 13 points in 79 games with NY. The deal is reported to be worth 700K for two years. (Perhaps a Lundmark type replacement?)
