The Flames could help themselves win if they could muster enough desire to skate with young blood. Colorado doesn’t really boast a bonafide star. Sure, maybe Hedjuk is in the mix, but he’s washed up….kinda of like Jarome Iginla.
Why the Flames lost tonite?
Simply put, poor defense, and poor rebound control. Henrik Karlson got his second start and surrendered 6 goals. Almost all of them were a result of poor rebound control. Calgary managed to pot 5 goals on their own, but the captain is still MIA. When’s he going to find his game? Right now he’s literally afraid to go to the net and his only play is to button hook at the blue line and shoot wide. Lame.
Look for the Flames to rebound strong Saturday against Washington.
It wasn’t the best of performance considering that the Flames could have won the game with a 3-1 lead. However, the shots on goal in favour of the Avs demonstrated the lack of defence. Although the team managed to hit the target five times, the 20 or so shots once again convinces the lack of offensive effort. Nonetheless, on an optimistic closing note, Hagman and Tanguay continue to show their spirits while Stajan, Jackman and Jokinen made great contributions.
