Jarome Iginla 1000th In a meaningless game that I wasn’t going to bother covering two newsworthy items.

1. Jarome Iginla registered his 1000th point in a three point night. Anybody who advocated this guy’s trade mid-way through the season is a moron. almost 40 goals and 90 points. No bad for an ‘old guy’. Happy to have Iginla come back next year for another 90 points (why not?). Let’s hope the rest of the team decides to show up too.

Admittedly, Iginla hasn’ tbeen around every game, he scores in bunches, but you can’t argue with almost 40 goals.

2. Daymond Langkow made his return to the Flames after almost a year rehabilitating a bad neck injury. You’ll recall he went down in a game against Minnesota after taking a puck to the spine.

He came back, started on the forth line, and quickly went to the top line setting up the tying goal. I didn’t know how much we missed Langkow….Goes to show Calgary played without their #2 – #1 centerman all year, lost their #3 and #4 along the way….and yet still made the playoffs.

Some, like sports ‘reporters’ claim Calgary were relatively healthy all year. That’s simply not true. They had a good run during Jan-Feb and then that was it.

Tonight, Calgary fell asleep in the first 40 minutes, typical Flames, and then came from behind to win. They aren’t a playoff team because they have an inability to play a consecutive game for 60 minutes. Get rid of deadweight like Hagman, Kotalik, Bourque, and Stajan, and maybe you’ll ahve some pieces towards a winning playoff team. (Those guys together have a salary in excess of 13 million).

Notes: 3 games left. Yet again, no teams are helping the Flames, Chicago roared back to take two points in a shoot-out against CBJ, which means Anaheim needs to lose all of their five remaining games, and Chicago has to lose 4 of 5. Yea, not going to happen.
