When the Flames fail to make the post-season yet again they can surely blame man-game lost. They lead the NHL by a long shot. Tonight another two players out, Bouma and Comeau. Not that they’re contributors offensively, but it still adds up. ALl that to say, secondary scoring is non-existant on this team. In close games that’s the difference, which is every game down the stretch.
With the likes of, well, every other team in the final 7&8 playoff position race playing hot, the Flames are cooling to a freezing temperature incapable of winning games when it matters most.
It’s done. Calgary can only lose 4 more games in the last 16. Fat chance.
You off the bandwagon yet?
No doubt, an interesting game after the Flames captain tied the game at two; but simultaneously, the shorthanded goal and the lack of offensive threat in the shoot out had been disconcerting. However, of noteworthy, were the two conspicuous judgemental calls against the Flames: The interference call on Moss when he tried reaching out for the puck as well as Glencross’ penalty in OT. Why is it always the Flames who are wrongfully guilty of these offences? Okay, so the Flames lost again, but thinking about discrepancies, it is just unfortunate that the home team had to lose this one. Better luck next time, Go Flames Go.
In addition to the above comments, the misfortune of the Flames being targetted as the “guilty party” on a game to game basis will not change unless the NHL takes the initiative to look at the facts as they stand around the league. Nevertheless, although the negative repercussions of the game against Anaheim had truly been disappointing, the point earned in the game was far better than not earning any points.
Oops! It was Cammalleri’s penalty in OT and not Glencross.
Great video starring Jarome Iginla!
