Post-game summary, team news, and commentary.
Calgary's woes as one of the worst teams in the NHL continued as they faced one of the best teams in the league. Many people are noticing bits and pieces that are 'turning around' for the team, but inevitably, none of that matters if the team never wins games. Coming...
There wasn't any scoring by the Flames, but at least the forth line chucked em good. First up Godard v King. Big haymakers but nothing much landing. Funny how they just break themselves up at the end. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAj2bmNguFA] Smith and...
Seems Phaneuf is the only Flame with some heart on the team. He gets things moving early in pre-game warm-up Saturday in Calgary's win. Too bad the rest of the team can't figure it out (Phanuef can't play every position you know....) An article in the Herald about the...
A veteran team with veteran coaches continue to soul search for answers to their wayward problems. Calgary couldn't score, and special teams sucked wind as the Flames dropped another contests against a mediocre team. This only means that Calgary is itself--less than...
Another divisional game and another opportunity for the Flames to turn their lazy fortunes around. A home game should mean a home win right? Probably not given the latest string of efforts the Flames have put together. After two nice wins against Minnesota and...
Flames Don't Have What it Takes It must have been the 'two games in less than 24 hours' because the Calgary Flames took a step backwards in their attempts to salvage a poor November performance. Beating a struggling Minnesota and crappy Edmonton Oilers teams is one...
A Solid Outing for a Change Calgary hasn't faired well in the eight game stretch against divisional rivals. In fact, their five consecutive losses before Tuesday's fluke win against Minnesota put them in a tight spot team and standings wise. Keeping your fingers...
The Flames are fresh off a lucky win against Minnesota and are currently the healthiest team in the West. But, as we approach the quarter point for this year's season there are unfortunately more questions than answers surrounding a team that's supposed to be a cup...

For some reason the Saddledome is a lot quieter. Fans from opposing teams easily overpower the home crowd during the course of the game. I suppose it should be expected. The Calgary Flames are among the worst teams in the NHL, they just lost to the worst team, and...
Langkow has a concussion and won't be back for Saturday. Chances are there will be no move by the league. Keenan suggested that Langkow put himself in the position to be hit and didn't blame Cooke. More updates to follow. EDIT: Langkow tested high on the concussion...
Matt Cooke Cheapshot - Langkow Lost on Cheap Hit There are only a couple of teams that have flourished since the NHL changed their instigator rules to permit smaller agitator players room to take liberties. matt cooke, byron ritche, jeff cowan, and alexandre burrows....
Nystrom does pretty well in this dust up. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTcSaC35p6I]
As per your requests the two fights in a loosing cause. The best one between Godard and Booggard, too bad Godard got the game for instigating, stupid call by the refs but ah well. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypUHeidfp_A]...
Precious division points were squandered as the Calgary Flames failed to provide a worthy effort in tonight's game. The first road game after a lengthy home stand began in Denver where the Flames were playing the 3rd of 8 meetings against their divisional rivals....
