Post-game summary, team news, and commentary.
I'm not sure if the Flames really deserved to win this game, but hey, we'll take it anyway we can get it. Kiprusoff stole a game for us, as 70% of the game was played in the Flames zone. The inability to kill, and more important adjust, to the Dallas game plan, almost...
Yet another game where Flames have games in hands and need points to stay in the race of the NW division. Tonight, the Flames started off strong in the first period but let up late. The first period saw basic forecheck that makes Flames 5v5 dominate. Phanuef managed...
The Vancouver Canucks need all the help they can get. Hopefully with more wins they'll get so air headed that their inability to score goals will come through and a playoff berth will be unattainable. Albeit, they work hard for 60 minutes, something the Flames...
Jarome Iginla had an off night with only three points to jump to second in league scoring. Yes, largely, the Flames are slowly putting together better games, hopefully the consistency stays. Seconday scoring kicked in as Kobasew got his third off a nice pass from...
Jarome Iginla woke up and scored 4 points, albeit against LA. Iginla had a goal and three assists as Calgary defeated the Los Angeles Kings 6-4 on Friday night to snap a three-game losing streak. The goal was Iginla's first in six games. Looking for big games from...
The Calgary Flames continue their October like play with bad all around hockey. From top to bottom the Flames have little to show but lackluster efforts and poor performances by top names. When Flames hockey is played to a tee by Vancouver, you know something is...
The good news, the Flames can redeem themselves tomorrow. The bad news is, the Flames aren't playing well. In fact, the Flames have consistently played bad....for at least 7 games now. Albeit, injuries are taking its toll, the forwards have yet to contribute. The bad...
The Flames are playing like a NHL hockey club that has many things to learn, namely how to win on the road. There is zero secondary scoring to be accounted for, the 4th line is useless, and injuries continue to hurt the squad. Let's not make excuses, but the team...
Jamie Mac got his first win of the season with some timely offense. The back up netminder gave Kiprusoff a much needed night off by backstopping the Flames to a 5-3 win over lowly LA. Albeit, he wasn't spectacular in net, he did enough to get the W, his first of the...
I thought Vancouver was bad, I thought Torres was bad, I thought McTavish was bad, I thought Edmonton was bad... No sir, the worst poor sport in the entire NHL is Teemu Selanne. Never have I seen such poor sportsmanship in a hockey player. I first took notice of...
Wow, a road win, and get this, with the Flames forecheck hard they dominate 5v5. What a concept! And guess what, some timely powerplay work contributed to the Flames win for a change. Albeit, it was Pheonix and not, well you know, a better team. With three regular...
Is it true that Saskatchewan is Flames territory? Maybe South SK, but hey, I'm cool with more Flames fans. I guess there's enough to warrant an exhibition game next season. The Calgary Flames will play in the City of Saskatoon one pre-season NHL game on Tuesday,...
The inability to convert on the power play has once again killed the Flames. Any team can easily defend the Flames' boring power play strategy which consists of pass around the perimeter and wait for the point shot. No wonder goals on the PP are few and far between....
The 1st line remembered what happened a week ago and decided to take matters into their own hands. Jarome Iginla had a 4 point night taking in 2 assists and 2 goals to lead the Flames to a comfortable 5-2 victory of the Wild. Tanguay got the ball rolling after scoring...
This game was a lot closer than it should have been. The Canucks managed to get to within 1 in the third but couldn't tie it up before Tanguay scored an empty netter. For some reason it's cool to step off the gas in the last 10 minutes of the game just to make things...
